The Museum is proud to be the steward of one of the premier railroad collections in the United States. The evolution from State Fair exhibit to world class repository of rolling stock, buildings and ephemera was made possible in large part by a devoted fellowship of volunteers. These individuals possessed the vision and determination to ensure the survival of these monumental and irreplaceable treasures. Those special few have dedicated their time to help enrich the lives of others through their services. Our volunteers are an active part of the Museum and we depend on their services to help us educate and reach out to all generations. Services include being a docent, helping during special events, giving tours, and more. Our volunteers range from model railroading fans to retired railroad workers and everything in between.

You can help the Museum of the American Railroad raise funds when you grocery shop!

The museum participates in Kroger Community Rewards Program. They match a portion of eligible grocery purchases with a quarterly check to the museum.

If you shop at Kroger and do not participate; we encourage you to signup. It is a great way to help organizations in the community every time you shop.

Kroger Community Rewards:

1-Have a Kroger Plus Shopper’s Card (See store for enrollment).

2-Have an online account with Kroger.com. Please click here to create an account.

3-In your account: enroll under the "Community" tab on the left side of the screen. Find us with this information: Organization Name: MUSEUM OF THE AMERICAN RAILROAD Organization Number: KD519 (Please note, this is a new number)
