Museum Hosts DALLAS TV Series Production
3/24/2014
The DALLAS television series was "on location" at the Museum this morning. Horizon Scripted Television of Dallas shot a segment of Season 3's Episode 12 featuring the Museum's Kansas City Southern boxcar #106917 and Western Pacific boxcar #68652. The cars were the subject of a fictitious illegal shipment of drugs from Mexico to Texas.
Like most location shoots, the Museum was converted into a major set, with portable generators, cables, and related production equipment. Over 16 support vehicles and 35-40 crew participated in the shoot. Nearly every craft was represented during the five hour production. Pre-production work and set dressing took place last Friday in preparation for today's 6:00am crew call.
The Museum has been featured in numerous motion picture productions over the years, including Showtime film Lily Dale, and TV series Good Guys and Prison Break. Several music videos have also been produced such as Don Henley's End of the Innocence.
