Muckleroy Foundation Makes Major Gift to Museum

The Muckleroy Foundation has been a long-time supporter of the Museum, providing gifts and in-kind contributions for nearly 20 years. The Foundation recently provided a $50,000 contribution toward capital construction projects at the Museum. The gift put us over the top, adding to other sources of funding which allowed for completion of Phase II-A construction.

The Museum’s relationship with the Muckleroy Foundation goes back to Robert N. “Bob” Muckleroy’s many years of volunteer service. Bob was a doctor of sports medicine and an avid railroad enthusiast. His love of the Santa Fe Railway and desire to share the history of railroads with future generations was infectious. At the time of his passing, his wife Dani vowed to continue supporting the Museum, and a new friendship flourished.

Dani has been an ardent supporter of the Museum, sharing in the successes and struggles over the years. We are very grateful for her continued friendship and support. Through her generosity, the Museum has continued its progress in Frisco toward constructing a larger facility to serve a greater audience in the North Texas region.

In addition to the foundation’s monetary contributions, the Muckleroy family donated a complete, original 1947 Santa Fe caboose which had been an anniversary gift from Bob to Dani. The caboose is a regular on tours, seeing thousands of visitors and students each year. Dani has also contributed many hours to the Museum’s annual fundraiser, “Day Out with Thomas”.
