Dallas’ Bass Family Provides Gift to Frisco Project

The Bass family of Dallas has endorsed the move of the Museum of the American Railroad to Frisco Texas, along with a $20,000.00 gift toward construction of new facilities. Alice W. Bass provided a $10,000.00 contribution which was matched by the Richard D. Bass Foundation. “With this significant addition to the Museum’s funding endeavor, the visibility of the collections and exhibits will be greatly enhanced, and the educational programming will be available to more North Texans and others throughout the country,” said the Museum’s Capital Campaign Co-Chair, Ellen H. Rogers.

The Bass funds will be applied toward the construction of 3,300 feet of track at the new Frisco location that will accommodate the Museum’s 40-piece rolling stock collection upon arrival. The Museum is very grateful to the Bass family for their endorsement and support of the project.

The Museum of the American Railroad is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit Texas Corporation created in 1962 to preserve the nation’s railway heritage and explore new technologies and developments in the rail industry through educational programming and exhibits.
